Integral Imaging is well known for its capability of recording both the spatial and the angular information of threedimensional (3D) scenes. Trabecular trajectory in the articular processes of the human fourth cervical vertebra

The articular processes (AP) of the neural arch have been implicated in weight transmission through the cervical spine. To analyse the mechanism of weight transmission in the AP, we studied the direction of forces within it, in particular, the pattern of trabecular trajectories. Twenty-two AP from C4 vertebrae were studied in anatomical sections, and corresponding photoelastic models from selected sections were constructed and analysed. Improved reliability estimates for the serial color-word test

Starting from Lennart Sjoberg's serial scoring of the Color-Word Test and his critical review of the test, the possibilities of attaining better reliability estimates are briefly surveyed. As a simple step, the orthogonalization of the regression model is suggested. Ways of maximizing the reliability estimate are demonstrated. On the basis of 261 subjects from five differing subsamples, clinical and control groups, the reliability estimates of the oblique system of the orthogonalized system and of the maximum reliability solutions are compared empirically. The significance of the results for test theoretic evaluation of the Color-Word Test is discussed.

[1] In many cases the initial stage of continental break-up was and is associated with oblique rifting. That includes break-up in the Southern and Equatorial Atlantic, separation from eastern and western Gondwana as well as many recent rift systems, like Gulf of California, Ethiopia Rift and Dead Sea fault. Abstract This paper reports the synthesis, X-ray structure and magnetic characterization of [Cu2(HBIMAM)2(C4O4)3(H2O)2]n·2nH2O [BIMAM = bis(imidazol-2-yl)methylamino methane]. This compound is made of infinite chains – running along the [1 1 0] direction – with copper ions bridged by μ1,3-squarato ligands. Furthermore, these chains are further cross-linked through additional squarate anions (with the same μ1,3-bis(monodentate) bridging mode) to generate two-dimensional sheets parallel to the ab plane. Various areas of research need to be considered in order to establish a mathematical model of a vehicle crash. To enhance the modeling process, a novel ANFIS-based approach to reconstruct behavior of impacting vehicles is presented in this paper. Kinematics of center of gravity (COG) a vehicle involved in an oblique barrier collision is reproduced by application of a five-layered ANFIS structure. Then, the same ANFIS system is used to simulate a different collision type than the one which was used in the training stage. On Detection of Yaw and Roll Angle Information for Vehicle Oblique Crash using Hough Transform

When performing vehicle crash tests, it is common to capture high frame rate video (HFR) to observe the vehicle motion during the impact. Such videos contain a lot of information, especially when it comes to geometric data. The yaw and roll angles from the HFR video is detected by using the Hough Transform and Matlab's Image processing Toolbox. The measured Yaw angle from the HFR video are compared with real life test data captured with a gyroscopic device inside the vehicle during the oblique vehicle impact.
Analysis of microsphere oblique impact with planar surfaces based on the independent friction-restitution approach

The independent friction restitution closure (IFR) previously applied to describe planar oblique impact of a homogeneous sphere on an infinitely massive rough plane is applied here to microsphere collisions and is extended to describe horizontal launch experiments. The model provides analytical solutions of the motion equations based on a unique set of values of the coefficients of normal and tangential restitution and friction. Comparison with experimental data in literature for the impact of microspheres of diameter <100 mu m yields a satisfactory agreement between experimentation and theory.
Analysis of rolling friction effects on oblique rebound by redefining tangential restitution and friction

The planar oblique impact of a homogeneous sphere on an infinitely massive rough plane is described assuming that normal and tangential restitution mechanisms operate independently of friction, and that frictional effects include not only the usual Coulomb model but also rolling friction effects. This formulation extends early models including rolling friction effects in the description of impact events to include the independent friction restitution closure.
